The Governing Council of Oyo State College of Education, Lanlate (OYSCOED), has commended the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, FNSE, for approving the appointment of substantive Management for the College; Provost – Dr. Suebu Olaide Lamidi, Deputy Provost – Dr. Musbau Ishola Yusuf and Registrar – Mr. Abayomi Oladele Salako.
The Governing Council equally applauded Governor Makinde for sponsoring twenty (20) students for NCE programme in the College from each Local Government Area in the State.
The commendation was made at the Council’s 20th Regular Meeting held on Tuesday, 13 October 2026, at the College Board Room, Administrative Building, Site A.
The Chairman of the Governing Council, Com. Segun Oyewumi, described the approvals as significant milestones that would strengthen the institution’s administration and expand access to quality teacher education across the State.
He noted that the appointment of substantive Management would promote administrative stability, enhance institutional governance and strengthen the College’s capacity to deliver on its statutory mandate.
He also described the sponsorship of twenty students from each Local Government Area as a commendable initiative that would broaden access to higher education, promote equal educational opportunities and support the development of future teachers across Oyo State.

The Chairman assured the Governor that the Governing Council, in collaboration with Management, would ensure that these initiatives translate into tangible improvements in the College’s administration, academic programmes and overall performance.
The Council reaffirmed its commitment to accountability, prudent resource management and academic excellence, expressing its determination to position OYSCOED, Lanlate, as a leading institution for teacher education in Nigeria, in line with its motto: “Total Education for Morality and Excellence.”
