Oyo state government has approved production of exercise books for students in public secondary schools at a sum of #446 million which will be distributed when the students resume academic activities in January, 2021.
The government also approved a contract for the production of 25,750 pairs of students furniture at a total sum of #658 million.
The state commissioner for education, science and technology, barrister Olasunkanmi Olaleye, disclosed this on Wednesday while briefing journalists on the outcome of the state’s executive council meeting.
Barrister Olasunkami added that the council has also approved a sum of #169 million for the procurement of science equipment and materials for public secondary schools in Oyo state.
Also briefing the newsmen, the commissioner for Justice, professor Oyelowo Oyewo, disclosed that the state ministry of Justice has presented a bill to repel the existing law of LAUTECH joint ownership between Oyo state and Osun state and establish a law that will back the sole ownership of LAUTECH by Oyo state.
He added that the bill when sign into law will discontinued all the practices and rules that must be followed to apply to LAUTECH.
