Oyo State Deputy Governor, Engr Rauf Olaniyan, former governor of the state, Otunba Adebayo Alao-Akala, immediate past senator representing Oyo South Senatorial District, Rilwan Adesoji Akanbi, Senator Teslim Folarin and other personalities across all sectors on Friday gathered at Oluyole residence and International Conference Centre, University of Ibadan to attend the one year remembrance prayer and celebration of former governor of Oyo State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi.
FreshPage recalls that the two terms governor of the Oyo State died at First Cardiology Centre located in Lagos exactly a year ago at aged 70.

The wife of former governor Chief Mrs. Florence Ajimobi son of the governor, Idris Ajimobi; and other members of the Ajimobi family welcome visitors from all walk of life.
Among dignitaries present at the one year remembrance prayer were; former deputy governor of the state, Chief Moses Alake Adeyemo, Engr Olasunkani Tegbe, Senator Abdulfatai Buhari, former Oyo Commissioner for Finance, Zaccheous Adelabu and Minister of Mines and Steel Development, Olamilekan Adegbite

Islamic clerics who were at the event included, Sheikh Muhyideen Ajani Bello, Sheikh Habeebullahi Buhari, Dr Bashir Olanrewaju, Alhaji Mudathir Bada, Alhaji Salauddeen Adekilekun and Alhaji Abdul-Ganiyy Abdulsalam.
The Deputy Governor while speaking at shortly after the programme said late former governor, Senator Ajimobi has done his best for the state.
“He came, he saw and he conquered. He didn’t not only conquered, he wrote his name in the sand of time”.
Senator Akanbi described his late uncle, Ajimobi as a core progressive and true leader who recorded outstanding achievement in private and public sector.
The Okanlomo of Ibadanland said late Ajimobi built on the legacies of progressive governors Oyo State has had in the past.
Alhaji Bello while delivering his sermon at the programme advised politicians to be morally upright and deliver as expected while in office.
