A socio-political commentator and public affairs analyst, Mr. Sola Abegunde has received a phone call from one Mr. Badmus Ayodeji, on behalf of the Secretary of Judicial Commission of Inquiry set up recently by Governor Seyi Makinde following in connection with the memorandum he submitted August 4, 2026 to the Commission.
Abegunde who is out of Ibadan spoke with journalists shortly after the phone call conversation with Mr. Badmus Ayodeji, said he informed Mr. Badmus Ayodeji that he would notify the Commission when he will appear before it within 72-hours to speak and defend the memorandum submitted over the abduction and release of teachers and pupils in Ahoro-Esinele and Yawota communities in Oriire Local Government between May and July, 2026.

Abegunde while speaking further said the gentleman who called him conveyed the Commission’s position to him that his memorandum was useful.
“He said the Commission had invited people who submitted memoranda to appear through a publication and I told him I am not aware of such a publication. He challenged him that the Commission could have reached out to me via phone numbers attached to the memorandum”.

Abegunde requests with due respect that his appearance be covered with press men. He said his demand for press coverage wasn’t born out of self aggrandisement or ulterior motive. He said the Commission of this nature with public interest must be given the opportunity to press to have first hand information about its activities.
