A bill for an Act to Provide for the establishment of The Federal College of Nursing and Midwifery Okeigbo, Ondo State scaled through first reading.
Hon Festus Ayodele Adefiranye, a distinguished House of Representatives member, on Wednesday, 25th October, 2023 presented a groundbreaking Bill aimed at establishing the Federal College of Nursing and Midwifery in Okeigbo, Ondo State.
According to his media aide, the proposal brings hope and promises to significantly enhance the healthcare sector in our federal Constituency and Ondo state at large.
The bill which was presented on the floor of the Green Chambers for first reading was one of the numerous bills to be sponsored before the year runs out.
The establishment of this Federal College would be of added value to the health and Educational sector in Ondo state , as it would provide a platform for aspiring nurses and midwives to receive comprehensive and high-quality education. With a growing demand for healthcare professionals, this initiative when assented to by Mr President will contribute immensely to the health sector by addressing the shortages in health practitioners and also ensures that patients receive the best care possible.
By having such Federal institution for nursing and midwifery, students from Ondo State and beyond will have access to state-of-the-art facilities and experienced instructors. This will equip them with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their careers, ultimately contributing to the overall improvement of healthcare services in our community.
Moreover, the establishment of the Federal College of Nursing and Midwifery will create numerous employment opportunities for our local population. It will attract skilled professionals, support the local economy, and further strengthen our healthcare infrastructure.
