His Imperial Majesty Oba (Dr) Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja ( Arusa1) has promoted two Chiefs in Otun Line to the traditional positions of AJIa Olubadan and Jagun Olubadan of Ibadanland respectfully.

The two Chiefs promoted are Mogaji Kabiru Makinde from Ope – Oya Compound, Oje area of Ibadan to Ajia Olubadan of Ibadanland and Chief Charles Olumuyiwa Durasaro of Durosaro Compound, Gegelose area of Ibadan to the traditional position of Jagun Olubadan of Ibadanland on Friday 21st August, 2026.

According to the press release issued and signed by the Chief Press Secretary to Olubadan of Ibadanland, Chief Ayoade Solomon Olugbemiga, the promotion exercise took place at the Banquet Hall of Olubadan palace at Oke Aremo, Ibadan.

Oba Ladoja congratulated the duo for being considered and promoted to the enviable positions of AJIa Olubadan of Ibadanland and Jagun Olubadan of Ibadanland respectfully considering their antecedents.

The paramount ruler admonished them to continue upholding , promoting and preserving the cherished culture, custom and tradition of Ibadanland. Adding that traditional leadership is a responsibility to serve and to uphold the dignity of Olubadan traditional institution.

Responding to the clarion call of Kabiyesi on the responsibility of any Ibadan Chief to Ibadanland, the newly promoted Ajia Olubadan of Ibadanland said the chiefs in Ibadan are fully ready to key into the vision of Oba Ladoja and members of the Olubadan – In – Council to promote unity, peaceful co – existence and advance the progress and development of Ibadanland.

Present at the promotion exercise ceremony were the Balogun of Ibadanland, Oba Tajudeen Abimbola Ajibola, the Otun Olubadan of Ibadanland,Oba (Sir) Eddy Oyewole, Otun Balogun of Ibadanland, Oba (Dr) Kolawole Adegbola, Ashipa Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Salawudeen Amidu Ajibade, Ashipa Balogun of Ibadanland, Oba Dauda Abiodun Azees, Ekerin Balogun of Ibadanland, Oba Akeem Mobolaji Adewoyin, Balogun Iyalode, Chief Taye Soyege, Osi Balogun Iyalode, Chief Durosaro Yewande ,Afobaje of Ibadanland, Chief Wahab Popoola Mosadogun, Araba who doubles as Olu – Isese of Ibadanland , Chief Ifalere Odegbola, the president of Ibadan Mogajis, Chief Ariori , Mogajis and Baales.
