Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State on Wednesday evening commissioned newly built Olubadan Palace in Ibadan.
The new palace with the state of the art facility located in Oke-Aremo, Ibadan has been a long time vision of Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII) to have expansive and central palace for Olubadan after Oja’ba palace was abandoned.
In a Tweet via his verified handle on X, Gov Makinde during the official commissioning of the palace acknowledged the contribution of late former governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, present and past president of the CCII.

Governor Makinde also used the occasion to appreciate all Ibadan indigenes who contributed to make the project a reality.
Governor Makinde said that his administration has established a process where all 11 local government councils in Ibadan will contribute on monthly basis for upkeep of the expansive palace.

He assured everyone that the second phase of the palace, will include renovation of the Bower’s Tower, to boost tourism sector in the State.
