Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr Seyi Makinde has been awarded Silverbird 2022 Man of the Year Award. The award ceremony held in Convention Center of the Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The television station is based in Lagos and owned by one of former senator who represented Bayelsa East Senatorial District, Mr. Ben Murray-Bruce.
The award was given in honor of Governor Makinde numerous accomplishments, as well as his extensive infrastructural development and repositioning of the education and other critical sectors in Oyo State. Makinde defeated four other people on the shortlist for the award by receiving the highest votes from Nigerians.
The Deputy Governor, Barr Bayo Lawal who received the award on behalf of the Governor said; “I thanked the organizer, and Senator Ben Murray Bruce in particular, for recognizing individuals and corporate organisations that have positively made impact on the lives of Nigerians. I equally made note of my principal’s adherence to the four cardinal points of economic expansion, workers welfare, the expansion of the agricultural sector, and the provision of health care which which are some of the reasons he won the award”.
