Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr Seyi Makinde has allayed the fear of Oyo workers whether Oyo will be among the states that will pay the recently approved N70,000 by the Federal Government.
Governor Makinde while speaking at this year’s edition of World Teachers’ Day to commemorate the role of teachers in nation building assured that his administration will pay the N70,000 minimum wage pending the time negotiation between Oyo State chapter of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) and Committee of the government concluded their work.

Gov Makinde said his administration has extended the payment of wage award to cushion the effect of petroleum subsidy which was removed by FG by three months.
”Negotiation will start next week, consequential adjustment will be negotiated and payment of new minimum wage will commence once it is ratified”.
