A student of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, (LAUTECH) identified as Oluwatoyin Henry has been convicted for false pretence before Justice Sherifat Adeyemi of the Oyo State High Court, Ibadan.
Mr. Henry pleased guilty, this was followed by a plea bargaining and later convicted and sentenced to six months in jail.
The case was pursued to the court by the Ibadan Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Mr. Henry was charged for one count charge bothering on false pretence after he made attempt to defraud and obtain a sum of one thousand two hundred United States of America dollars ($1,200) from one Betty Mosley.
Mr. Henry had in 2019 claimed he was a citizen of United States of America and Amanda by name who was in love with Betty Mosley.
