The Federal Ministry of Education has approved the suspension
of all meeting of the Governing Council of the University of Ibadan.
This was conveyed in a letter to the Executive Secretary of the National Universities Commission by the Permanent Secretary of the Education Ministry, Mr. Sonny Echono on Monday.
FRESHPAGE recalls that following multiple allegations of malpractices, the selection process for the appointment of a new Vice Chancellor of the University was suspended in November last year and the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Academics, Prof. Babatunde Ekanola was elected in acting capacity for the next six months which kicked off in December 1, 2020.
