Oyo state governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde has approved the sum of N9.3b for the procurement of over hundred Mass Transit Buses for the state after the approval was sought at the 29th State Executive Council Meeting.
The Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Hon. Seun Fakorede disclosed this while during a press briefing at the end of SEC meeting in the early hours of Wednesday 28th October, 2020.
He explained that the proposed procurement of public mass transit will be shuttling interstates, assist in mobility of agricultural produces and in no small measure impact on the economic development of the state.
In addition, the Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Barr. Niyi Farinto also hinted that, the council had granted approval for the rehabilitation and construction of two links roads from Akobo, with one beside NNPC mega station and the other at general gas to ease of traffic tension and congestion in the area.
He further confirmed to pressmen that N2.5b has been approved for the traffic lights and signal project in the state.
