The first democratically elected governor of Lagos State, Alhaji Lateef Jakande is dead. He died at the age of 91.
His passing onto another realm was announced by the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu via his verified Twitter handle.
Late Jakande was Lagos State Governor between 1979 to 1983. He was also a Minister of Works during General Sanni Abacha’s regime between 1993 to 1998.
He recorded a giant achievement during his regime as governor of Lagos State, under him, Lagos established its own University. Aggressive infrastructural development was recorded in all the key sector during his administration as governor.
