A respected elder stateman of the Oyo State chapter of the People’s Democratic Party, Alhaji Nureni Akanbi, Arole Iba Oluyole has said that he warned Governor Seyi Makinde to be careful in his dealings with Senator Hosea Agboola Halleluyah.
Alhaji Akanbi made the revelation while featuring on socio-political programme anchored by Temitayo Oyeladun tagged “Bosenlo” on Lagelu FM in Ibadan on Saturday. Arole Iba Oluyole said he warned Governor Makinde that Halleluyah will betray him as he did to former governors under the platform of PDP since the birth of the 4th republic.
Alhaji Akanbi recounted that he specifically called the attention of Governor Makinde to the chameleon nature of Halleluyah sometime in August 2021 when Chief Bode George came to Ibadan for party affairs.
Arole Iba Oluyole said he wasn’t surprised Halleluyah parted ways with Governor Makinde. He accused Halleluyah of not being a loyal person to his previous political principals; Senator Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja and Otunba Christopher Adebayo Alao-Akala.
FreshPage recalls that Igbojaye-born politician in Itesiwaju LGA, Halleluyah along with political structure dumped PDP in October 2025 for All Progressives Congress, APC citing internal crisis among others in the party.

Oloye Akanbi while speaking on the internal wrangling facing the party said everything will be resolved soon and the party will have candidate come 2027 general elections. He blamed Governor Makinde and FCT Minister, Barr Nyesom Wike for the current travail facing the party. He lamented that the duo traded off the party in the 2023 presidential and National Assembly elections.
Alhaji Akanbi said PDP will bounce back and caution party members to remain steadfast.

Arole Iba Oluyole however condemned sacking of all political appointees loyal to Barr Hazeem Gbolarumi in Ibadan North LGA. He described the termination of their appointments by the LG Chairman as reckless and needless.
