As Nigerians home and abroad continue agitation to demand #EndSARS over its brutality on innocent citizens.

Oyo born real estate manager, Mr.  Kazeem Yekinni has narrated how he escaped brutality recently in the hands of Special  Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) along Ogbomoso-Ilorin expressway.

The gentleman said he took off from Lagos to Ilorin for personal assignment but the bus conveying him to Ilorin was stopped by the operative of SARS along Ogbomoso-Ilorin road for check. He said one of the men on duty asked to come down which he complied as a law abiding Nigeria but to his surprise he was asked to surrender his hands for handcuffs which he declined.

“Despite the location being bushy with no houses or people around to call for help, I refused to be intimidated as I asked them three questions; why should I stretch my hands for handcuffs? what’s my offence? Are you here to protect or to harass?

“As if one of the men was expecting those questions from me, he quickly said,if you stress me, I will waste you here, you know there is no one around to help you.

The word ‘waste’ got me panic but, I insisted never to allow them handcuffed me. He pushed me with his gun and asked me to enter their vehicle. I kept asking why as the resistance continued and before I knew it, one of them kicked my leg with his hard boot”.

He asked; what do you do? where are you coming from and where are you going to? where is your phone?

“After few minutes of argument,I gave them my phone and after almost five minutes of check and re-check, they found nothing but pictures of lady I ended up married as wife, houses and land I was given by owners for sale and management.

“They released me though, but the memory of utterances similar to killers and the intimidation continue to linger in my mind up till now.”
