A former University of Ibadan student leader, Adeola Adelabu Labzy has been elected president of the Junior Chamber International (JCI), Ibadan.
Adelabu would lead the 53-year old organization to actualize it’s goals for the year 2021.
Adeola Labzy was a former honourable member of Tedder Hall Representative Council, he also served as the Speaker of the Tedder Hall Representative Council before contesting for the Students’ Union president in the year 2010/2011 academic session where he lost narrowly to Tokunbo Salako.
Adelabu holds Bachelor of Science degree (B.Sc) in Agricultural Economics, Master’s of Science degree (M.Sc ) in Sustainable Development Practice from the UI’s Centre for Sustainable Development (CESDEV).
In his speech after he was elected, he said he won’t take the overwhelming support he received from Jaycees for granted.
‘’The best way to predict the future is to create it. We have taken a bold step into that future. In 2021, we would take a LEAP for impact. We must join hands to build an organization that do not meet the expectations of members alone but the one that provide countless opportunities for them.
‘’In line with JCI’s mission and goals, we must take action locally to meet the needs in our community. The first responsibility of a leader is to define reality.’’
