The Nigeria Security Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Oyo State under Commandant Iskilu Akinsanya has revealed that the State Command has deployed no fewer than 2300 armed personnels in the State for hitch free sallah celebration.

He also called on all Area Commanders, Divisional Officers and personnel of the Corps to beef up security in their vicinity before, during and after the festive period as Muslims will be celebrating this year Eid-el Kabir on Friday.

He made the call yesterday  at the Command’s State Headquarters, Agodi Ibadan when  the Muslim Community of Oyo State, Nigeria (MUSCONS) paid him a courtesy visit.

Commandant Iskilu Akinsanya enjoined the Muslim faithfuls to celebrate moderately and take responsibility against the spread of deadly corona virus (COVID-19) through the use of face mask, personal Hygiene and observant of physical and social distancing.

Meanwhile, Commandant Iskilu Akinsanya has directed the Disaster Management Unit in the State to always have the Command ambulance and disaster personnel on highways for rescue during the celebration. The Agro Rangers Squad and the Counter Terrorist Unit have also been deployed to all the nooks and crannies of the State to prevent crime and criminality during the Salah Festival.

In a release, signed by the PRO of the State Command, an appeal was made to parents and guardians to monitor the activities of their children and wards.

Earlier, Alhaji Kunle Sani, Chairman of Muslim Community of Oyo State appreciated the State Commandant and NSCDC Personnel in Oyo State for protecting lives and properties in the State.
