As their fear of uncertainties aggravated by the decision of Oyo State Government to extend the number of metres of land for Ibadan Circular Road left and right, the landlords and residents of 10 communities in Oluyole Local Government have cried out in a peaceful protest to appeal to Oyo State Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde not to send them back to square zero by reducing the number of metres of land to be acquired by government for setback of circular road.
The affected communities are Lafikun, Okande, Irewolede, Eleketa, Arowojeka among others. The landlords in the area lamented that since the government officials came to mark their houses for demolition, they are more or less like walking ghosts on the street, thinking day and night what would be their fate should government not rescind its decision to reduce number of metres of land to be acquired for setback after initial 150metres taken.
Mr. Rashid Ajani, a landlord in Arowojeka community who spoke with NTA correspondent said that no where for him to go, he lamented that all his children have left him since he fell sick.

He appealed to Governor Makinde as a lover of masses to have his mercy for them at the setback of Circular Road project.
Another landlord who spoke with the pressmen, Mr. Asimiyu Oduola of Ajaagun Community, appealed to the Governor on behalf of people of the community to help them.
Another person, Mrs Rachael Oluwole who spoke with newsmen said over 250 houses have been marked for demolition. She said there is no where for her and other affected persons to go.
