Adebisi Yusuff Adebayo, a first class Pharmacy graduate of the University of Ibadan has won this year’s edition of Kevin Molloy Fellowship Award. The fellowship award was conferred on him based on his outstanding contribution, achievements in scholarly work and his commitment on how to reduce tobacco harm in Africa.
The highly competitive award was named after Kevin Molloy, born in 1957 and died in 2021. Kevin Molly was the Head, Tobacco Harm Reduction Scholarship Programme from 2018 to 2021.
The elated Yusuff received the Award at the ongoing Global Forum on Nicotine in Warsaw, Poland. Yusuf who graduated in 2021 was a recipient of prestigious DIANA Award for his outstanding contribution to academic, research and innovation.
The young scholar has authored and co-authored several academic papers. Yusuff established Tobacco Home of Research Hub in Nigeria as part of the 2021Scholarship Award. Yusuff is the Director for Research and Innovation at African Young Leaders for Global Health.
His recent work that earned great recognition titled: ‘’Invest in One, Reach Many: Advancing Tobacco Harm Reduction in Africa through Research, Advocacy and Capacity Building.
Yusuf described the fellowship as an extreme honour for him to uphold the legacy of Kevin Molloy towards reduction of tobacco harm in Africa.
The Founder, Global Health Focus, Don Prisno congratulated him on his deserving award. He described his academic menteé as a role model to Africa and rest of the world. He said such fellowship comes with substantial cash prize.
