• Calls for Frozen of LG’s Account
The legislative arm of the Oyo East Local Government Area on Tuesday, 25 April, 2023 at its plenary presided over by the Speaker, Rt Hon. Idowu Okunade suspended the Chairman of the council, Hon. Saheed Arowosaye and three others for alleged financial misappropriation, insubordination among others.
The legislative arm of the council at the emergency plenary held in Oyo East had councilors from different wards present. The legislative arm also suspended Political Head of LCDA Chairman, Hon. Bamise Alabi, a former African Democratic Party (ADC) member. Two councilors; Hon. Lasisi Kazeem Akinkunmi Eja, Ward 3 and Hon. Ajisebotan Yusuf Olatunji were also suspended for what the Council described insubordination and breach of trust.
Hon. Mustapha Abduwasiu Ademola (WASPA) moved the motion for indefinite suspension of the Chairman, Hon. Arowosaye to enable the council investigate petition before it which indicted Mr. Chairman of financial recklessness and diversion of funds.

While seconding the motion, Hon. Olatunde Olayinka Saheed said the LG account should be frozen with immediate action in order to pave way for House to investigate the matter before it.
The House resolved that property of the LG should be handed over to HLA of Oyo East Local Government.
