The All Progressives Congress (APC) Youth Movement, under the leadership of its Chairman, Comrade Roqeeb Adeyemi, joyfully celebrates the birthday of one of Nigeria’s most respected statesmen and visionary leaders, Distinguished Senator Rilwan Adesoji Akanbi (The Okanlomo of Ibadanland).
Speaking at the movement’s headquarters in Ibadan today, Comrade Adeyemi described Senator Akanbi as “a political father, a compassionate humanitarian, and a mentor whose commitment to service, justice, and inclusiveness remains unmatched in our time.”
“Over the years, Senator Akanbi has used both his political platform and personal resources to drive impactful change across various sectors through his well-structured Rilwan Adesoji Akanbi Foundation (RAAF)—a legacy institution committed to poverty alleviation, education, healthcare, agricultural development, youth empowerment, and community welfare.
“In the fight against poverty, Senator Akanbi has consistently provided financial assistance, skill acquisition opportunities, and start-up support for thousands of youths and women, ensuring economic inclusion and community-based development.
“On education, the RAAF Foundation has awarded scholarships, donated learning materials, rehabilitated schools, and offered mentorship to countless students across Oyo State, reinforcing his belief that knowledge is the backbone of national progress.
