Mr. Amber Ubung, a 30-year-old man and resident of Okuni in Ikom Local Government Area has been arrested by Cross River State Police Command for allegedly butchered his girlfriend who aborted visiting him after she received a sum of N7,000.
The Nation reports that when suspect paraded by the police, he confirmed that he perpetrated the act.
On what prompted his action, he said that he gave his girlfriend, Blessing Onu a sum of seven thousand naira (N7,000) to plate his hair and visit him on Valentine Day by Blessing aborted the visit.
He said after waiting patiently for her to show up which she didn’t. He armed himself with a machete proceeded to Blessing’s house, attacked her and gave her machete cuts all over her body.
The police investigation revealed that while victim’s mother was trying to rescue Blessing, Amber attacked the mother with machete and injured her.
The Police arrested the suspect with the machete and transferred his case to SCID for discreet investigation and due prosecution as soon as investigation is concluded.
