It was like a dream come true for Chief Mrs Florence Ajimobi, wife of former governor of Oyo State when her husband granted her request to follow her to Church for marital vow in the presence of Catholic priest.
She said all efforts to have Church wedding in 1980 when she got married to late governor Abiola Ajimobi did not materialized because she didn’t want to bother her husband since he has Muslim background. Mrs. Florence buttressed her point they used registry for their marriage.

Chief Mrs Ajimobi made the revelation in an exclusive interview she granted BBC News Yoruba saying that it took her 21 years after marriage to achieve her greatest marital demand.

She said anyone who didn’t do Church wedding as a Catholic cannot be entrusted with certain role in Church. This she said prompted her request to table it before her late husband.
While narrating how she achieved her greatest request, Mrs. Ajimobi said late former governor asked her what when they were preparing for 21 years wedding anniversary in 2001.
“I keep telling my beloved husband all what I want from him is Church wedding under the coordination of Catholic priest. He asked me other things, I replied that’s the only thing I wanted and he granted my request “.
While speaking about about the virtues of her late husband, she said late Ajimobi was a man of discipline, man of integrity, who keeps trust.
He described the administration of his late husband as the one that took security of lives and properties serious and capped it with infrastructure development.
