An APC chieftain and Senator representing Oyo South Senatorial District, Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli, has commenced consultations ahead of the 2027 governorship race in Oyo State.
As part of the move, the legal practitioner and seasoned politician has been engaging key party leaders and stakeholders across the state, signaling the start of strategic alignments on the future leadership of Oyo.

In a major step, Barr. Sharafadeen Alli has fixed Friday, April 17 for his official declaration into the 2027 governorship race, a move expected to further shape political conversations within the state.
In a message shared on media, he revealed details of his engagements across key areas of the state:
“Ahead of the forthcoming gubernatorial declaration, I had the privilege of engaging with critical stakeholders across Ogbomoso North, Ogbomoso South, and Ori-Ire Local Government Areas.
The conversations were rich, the resolve was clear, and the shared vision for a stronger and more prosperous Oyo State continues to unite us.
Together, we move forward with purpose, partnership, and an unwavering commitment to the people.”
During the consultations, Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli also raised concerns over what he described as the expenditure of ₦1.5 billion by the Oyo State Government on activities surrounding a recent coronation, calling for greater fiscal discipline and accountability from the administration of Seyi Makinde.
