The gubernatorial candidate of the Allied People’s Movement, APM, Bimbo Adekanmbi reportedly met with some Bloggers on Thursday and the meeting trends online.
Someone told me and allegedly so, that a lot of resources went into the exercise and I asked him, to what end?
At best, those guys would create some traffic, through propaganda, half-truths and in some cases, outright lies, like in the case of the viral video of Senator Sharafadeen Alli and the young man who sat on his lap during a meeting.
Yes, they created some traffic, but, if you look at the reactions of the generality of responsible and right thinking persons to that useless narrative created by the bloggers engaged for the hatchet jobs, it actually backfired.

I think I need to reiterate this important fact, in the All Progressives Congress, APC, we ain’t giving nothing to chance.
What will the bloggers add to Bimbo Adekanmbi and what will they remove from APC gubernatorial candidate, Senator Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli.
Are they going to change his complexion from dark to light or, they will change Alli’s complexion from light to dark?
The baggages Bimbo Adekanmbi is carrying to this election can not and will never be removed by any Blogger.
Do those guys possess the ability to change the fact that Bimbo Adekanmbi is a Christian and that Seyi Makinde who is completing his eight years tenure on May 29, 2027 is also a Christian?
Yes, Governor Seyi Makinde once defended the nomination of Bimbo Adekanmbi by saying that he is a citizen of Oyo state.
He made this statement while trying to defend Adekanmbi’s background as a former member of the APC and his faith as a Christian.
He claimed further that for him, competence and loyalty to Oyo state is more important to him.
Will those Bloggers change the fact that, through such reckless statements, Governor Makinde undermined the Muslim Community and those who have been working with him for the past seven years plus?
Is the Governor saying that, of the hundreds of thousands of Muslims who are also qualified to be the Governor of Oyo state, none of them is as competent and loyal to Oyo state like Adekanmbi?
Or, he is saying, well, even though a lot of people worked with me for seven years plus, but none of them is as competent and loyal to Oyo state like Adekanmbi or that all of them are from Kebbi state?
How will propagandist or a Blogger change that insulting narratives?
Then comes the godfatherism question. A prominent Leader of the APM, Alhaji Ismaila Ashipa posted on his Facebook page that Bimbo Adekanmbi is actually Seye Famojuro’s candidate.
Yes, Governor Seyi Makinde has been saying, “I won’t be Bimbo Adekanmbi’s godfather”.
Yet, the campaign slogan for Bimbo Adekambi is ” Omi Tuntun 3.0″.
Who owns ” Omi Tuntun”?
It is obvious that Bimbo Adekambi, as Governor, will not have one, but two godfathers. Seyi Makinde and Seye Famojuro, the Ijesa man and Oyo state will reject such a disaster.
While Senator Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli, Gubernatorial candidate of the APC had spoken in clear terms about Local Government autonomy, the crisis engineered by Governor Makinde at the Ibadan Circular Road, the unfortunate situation at the Broadcasting Corporations of Oyo state, the sales of Oyo state assets and Farm Settlements, Bimbo Adekanmbi has been hiding behind one finger.
Can he publicly promise the electorate that he would not choke the Local Governments just as his mentor, Governor Seyi Makinde had done for years?
Can he promise to reverse the controversial Ibadan Circular Road corridor?
Can he promise to reverse the sales of our Farm Settlements?
Can he tell us how he is going to deal with the problems in the BCOS?
All these are issues he could not afford to take an independent stand on and these are part of the issues that will be in the front burner towards the election.
The public will demand definite answers to these questions and the Bloggers won’t be able to assist Bimbo Adekanmbi.
Currently, the APM is facing litigations both in Ibadan and Abuja.
Will the Bloggers take away the threats these litigations portend for the party? Can they?
If all the Bloggers can do is the wishy-washy drama they put up with the video of Senator Sharafadeen Alli and the journalist, then, whatever deposits they may have received from whoever is paying them should be deemed forfeited.
When the time is ripe, even the best of Bloggers will fail the test of the APC.
The other time, Governor Seyi Makinde was saying we should leave him alone and face Bimbo Adekanmbi, because he is not on the ballot, contesting to be Governor.
That shows that the Governor himself admits that he is an albatross for his anointed gubernatorial candidate.
However, how can we separate the two of them from each other?
How can we separate Seye Famojuro from Bimbo Adekanmbi and Seyi Makinde?
How are we not going to include the Light Up Oyo Project, Agbowo Shopping Complex, the Ido-Eruwa Road, the Omi-Adio-Ido Road, Mukaila Auxiliary, the Bus Terminals, the Park Management System, Suraju Ilupeju, the numerous judgments of Courts which were violently disobeyed by Governor Seyi Makinde, the ruination of the BCOS and many other issues in the conversation for 2027?
If we can not overlook all these points and many others, can we truly leave Governor Seyi Makinde out of the conversation?
We will ensure that the Bloggers and propaganda machineries have their plates full.
Honestly, I can’t wait!
