Oyo State Government has held stakeholders’ consultative meeting on the year 2021 budget with a call on relevant people to duly contribute to the budgeting process in the state to enhance people-oriented development across the state.
The consultative meeting was held at the International Conference Center, University of Ibadan.
Addressing the participants, Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde said the forum was part of the state government’s efforts to ensure wide consultations on the state’s 2021 Budget.
Governor Makinde expressed his determination to pursue and implement policies that would satisfy the yearnings of the people of the state in the 2020 and 2021 budgets.
Governor Makinde said government was able to make appreciable remark on the 2020 budget despite the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Barrister Adeniyi Farinto stated that the present government in Oyo State would imbibe the principles of equity and participatory approach in the forthcoming budget.
Representative of civil society groups, pressure groups, local government and advocacy groups also reeled out their various concerns and expectations with an appeal to the state government to institutionalize the budgeting process
The Oyo Central and Oyo North session of the town hall meeting on the 2021 budget will also hold.
