Sixty T(60) newly inducted Principals and Zonal Secretaries have been charged to imbibe synergy, diligence, and commitment in the Schools posted.
The charge is to herald a positive transformation in the education sector, originally initiated by Prince Dapo Abiodun led administration.
The charge was made by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Primary and Secondary Schools, Mrs. Ronke Soyombo at the induction ceremony of Principals and Zonal Secretaries with the theme ” Redefining School Leadership, responsibilities for improved students learning ” held at Lisabi Grammer School Idi-Aba in Abeokuta.
Soyombo stated that inductees should establish an enabling environment for their teaching and non-teaching staff by engaging in regular leadership training.
She added that Principals must create a disciplinary department, to address in disciplinary tendencies excited by teachers and students for sanity to prevailed in their schools.
She commended the state Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, for its consistent effort at revamping the academic sector in Ogun State.
In his welcome address, the Permanent Secretary Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM), Mrs. Mojisola Dosunmu said the vice principals to be inducted as principals were thoroughly screened, in accordance with the guidelines of the Commission.
Represented by the Director of Information, Mr. Kehinde Onasanya, noted that Principals are expected to produce accurate and objective reports of their schools activities saying that zonal Secretaries must also present monthly rendition of schools posted, to the Commission.
Speaking earlier, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education Science and Technology (MOEST), Mrs. Abosede Ogunleye, urged all inductees to allow wisdom to influence their actions for academics to thrive in their schools.
In her goodwill messages, the President, Association of Nigeria Confederation of Principal of Secondary Schools (ANCOPPS), Dr. Ayodele Womiloju admonished inductees to appear neat, efficient and dedicated to their duties as they assumed new position of authority.
The event also had in attendance the Chairman House Committee on Education, Hon. Ademuyiwa Adeyemi, Special Adviser on Technical Education, Prof. Joseph Odemuyiwa, Chairman, Academic Staff Union of Secondary Schools (ASUSS) Comrade. Akeem Lasisi, among others.
