Ahead of the 2027 general elections, Oyo political atmosphere is witnessing major shakeups as politicians weigh their options of staying or embracing new party, especially among those that lost party’s ticket to contest House of Assembly, House of Representatives, governorship in the state.
Against this backdrop, a former Councillor representing Ward 8 in Akinyele Local Government Area of Oyo State, Chief Adeyemo Abass, popularly known as Adebass has tendered his resignation from the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Chief Adeyemo made this known through a resignation letter dated 10th September, 2026, and made available to journalists in Ibadan.
In the letter addressed to the Party Chairman, Oyo State chapter, Chief Moses Adeyemo Alake, the former council legislator attributed his decision to quit the party to personal conviction and prevailing political realities.
FRESHPAGE reports that Bashorun Oladeji, OMOBAO tendered his resignation few days ago in Ibadan North Local Government Area and expressed his readiness to work with Allied People’s Movement, APM.
Adeyemo said, after careful reflection and consultations, he considered it necessary to take a bow from the APC at this time.
He, however, expressed profound gratitude to his numerous supporters, loyalists and political associates for their unwavering commitment, dedication and support throughout his political journey in the party.

Adebass noted that solidarity and encouragement of his loyalists and supporters had remained a source of strength to him over the years.
He urged the party to remove his name from party’s register henceforth.
