A Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Olumide Ayeni has written a letter to the Government of Oyo state on behalf of Prince Jamiu Adedotun Alabi of the Agan Ruling House of Itabo.

FreshPage recalls that the Oyo state Government had earlier announced the appointment of Prince Kehinde Isiaka Bayonle Kehinde as the Onitabo of Itabo Land.
Sequel to that announcement, the Chairman of the Kingmakers, Chief Adeleke Ogundeji, Chief Olagbeso Olaniyi and Chief Okelola Olawale had written a letter to the Governor of Oyo state, calling the attention of the state Government to the fact that it was Prince Jamiu Alabi Adedotun who was elected as the Onitabo of Itabo Land, having scored 3 votes against Prince Isiaka Bayonle Kehinde who scored just one vote.

Despite the protests by the Kingmakers, the Government of Oyo state had gone ahead to schedule a Coronation ceremony for Prince Isiaka Bayonle Kehinde on Friday, July 10, 2026.
Mr. Olumide Ayeni SAN, in his letter dated the 8th of July, 2026 and which is addressed to the Governor of Oyo state, called the attention of the Governor to the Onitabo of Itabo Land Chieftaincy Declaration of 1958, section 23A Chiefs Law of Oyo state, 2000 and Item 83 Clause 2 of the Chiefs ( wearing Beaded Crowns)(Amendment) Order, 1979 effective 4th of October, 1979.

He demanded for the immediate cancellation of the coronation of Prince Kehinde Isiaka Bayonle as the Onitabo of Itabo on the 10th of July, 2026.
He said failure by the Oyo state Government to meet the terms of their letter within 21 days shall result in litigations.
