Oyo Speaker, Ogundoyin Hosts KDI Team On Electoral Reforms

Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly and Chairman, Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures, Rt Hon. Debo Ogundoyin has played host to the Kimpact Development Initiative (KDI) team.

The discussion between Ogundoyin and KDI’s team centred on critical electoral reforms and how to deepen democracy in Nigeria.

Ogundoyin highlighted the establishment of Electoral Offences Commission to achieve timely transmission of election results and reform in INEC leadership selection process. He stressed that current proposals reflect the aspirations of Nigerians for a more credible, transparent and inclusive electoral system.

Hon. Ogundoyin reaffirmed the commitment of the Conference of Speakers to supporting novel reforms through legislative action at the sub-national level.

Hon. Ogundoyin expressed appreciation to Mr. Bukola Idowu, KDI’s Executive Director and his team; Gbemisola Adebowale and Gboyega Adebowale for their consistent civic advocacy.
