Chief Adepoju, who was the Aare Alasa of Ibadan land, died this evening at his Ring road Ibadan residence following a protracted illness.
He is expected to be buried tomorrow in accordance with Islamic rites.
Late Adepoju will best be remembered for his fiery criticisms of military government in the 1990s with his Yoruba poems which forced him to go into hiding to avert arrest by security agents.
Aside being a Yoruba poet, Late Adepoju was also an author. He wrote a book titled “Ladepo Omo Adanwo”.
He later became an Islamic preacher towards the end of his life time
