The Imperial Majesty, Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Oba (Dr) Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi III, has commiserated with the family of late Lagos monarch, Oba of Iguruland in Aguda, Buhari Alade Oloto.
Alaafin described the death of Oba Buhari Alade Oloto as devastating and and incalculable loss to Iguru kingdom, Lagos State and Yoruba race.
Late King of Iguruland joined his ancestors at the age of 80, barely 10 months after coronation.
In a condolence message by His Director of Media and Publicity, ‘Bide Durojaiye, the Alaafin said Death is not the opposite of life, but a part of it.
Alaafin asserted that we will all die, as the goal isn’t to live forever, the goal is to create something that will.
“That it will never come again is what makes life so sweet. It is not length of life, but depth of life.
To the well-organized mind, death is but the next great adventure. People living deeply have no fear of death. Live your life, do your work, then take your hat”.
The Paramount Ruler who recalled the lifetime of the deceased pointed out that Oba Buhari Oloto lived a life worthy of emulation , as he was dedicated, upright, passionate, kind hearted, and a care giver.
Said he, “for life and death are one, even as the river and the sea are one. A man with outward courage , like the King of Iguruland, dares to die; a man with inner courage dares to live. None is actually dead until the ripples they cause in the world die away. He who is not busy being born is busy dying”.
While commiserating with the families, the people Iguruland, Aguda and Lagos State in general, Oba Adeyemi who prayed Allah to grant all the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
The Royal Father specifically told families of the deceased that,
“there is something you must always remember. Oba Buhari Oloto was braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. He will forever be remembered”. No
“Whatever you want to do, do it now. There are only so many tomorrows. Mostly it is loss which teaches us about the worth of thiings. As soon as you’ll realize it was a gift, you’ll be free.
“You will lose someone you can’t live without, and your heart will be badly broken, and the bad news is that you never completely get over the loss of your beloved. But this is also the good news.
They live forever in your broken heart that doesn’t seal back up. And you come through. It’s like having a broken leg that never heals perfectly — that still hurts when the weather gets cold, but you learn to dance with the limp”, Alaafin asserted.
