As Christians across the world celebrate Christmas Day, the Founder and Chairman of the Olusegun Okanlawon Foundation (OOF), Ambassador Engr. David Olusegun Okanlawon, has congratulated residents of the Ibarapa Zone, urging them to uphold the core values of love, compassion and selfless service that define the season.
In his Christmas Day message, Okanlawon described the birth of Jesus Christ as a timeless reminder of sacrifice and shared responsibility, noting that Christmas goes beyond religious celebration to offer practical lessons for peaceful coexistence and community progress.
The goodwill message, signed by his spokesperson, Sunday Adedokun Harshasha, called on individuals and families to extend kindness to the less privileged, stressing that genuine celebration of Christmas is reflected in acts of giving and collective care.
According to him, the true essence of the season lies in translating goodwill into concrete actions that ease hardship and uplift those at the margins of society, adding that no meaningful development can occur where empathy and service are absent.
Okanlawon also used the Christmas Day message to draw attention to the grand finale of the 2025 Ibarapa Sports Fiesta scheduled for December 28, describing the initiative as part of OOF’s broader commitment to youth engagement, unity and talent discovery across the zone.
He disclosed that winners of the 2025 Olusegun Okanlawon Mathematics Competition would receive their cash prizes during the event, alongside various sporting activities including marathon running, draught, soccer, Ayo Olopon and other indigenous games.
While appreciating the people of Ibarapa for their continued support of the foundation’s programmes, the community leader reaffirmed his resolve to sustain impactful interventions in education, youth empowerment and grassroots development.
