A Technology and Innovation Support Centre (TISC) has been set up at the University of Ibadan by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).
The University of Ibadan was among the universities that WIPO designated to host the TISC in Nigeria.
Upon the provision of the required materials needed for the take off at the university’s Centre for Intellectual Property Protection and Commercialization (CIPPaC), the Country Director of WIPO, Nigeria Office, Dr Olwatobiloba Moody inaugurated the Centre in UI.
The Technology and Innovation Support Center is dedicated to bridging innovations from mind to market, help researchers, inventors, and entrepreneurs to unlock their innovative potential and protect, manage, and create value with their Intellectual Property (IP) rights.
TISC is designed to be easily accessible within the universities where such centres are domiciled and WIPO supports the development of the centres through training, specialized resources including platforms and tools, learning resources, and publications, as well as provide opportunities for networking.
The Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Research, Innovation and Strategic Partnerships, Professor Oluyemisi A. Bamgbose, SAN represented the Vice Chancellor, Professor Kayode O. Adebowale, min, FAS, fspsp at the inauguration of the Centre.
