Professor Kayode O. Adebowale, FAS, mni, has celebrated his first year in office as the substantive Vice Chancellor of the University of Ibadan.
The first year of his five-year single term clocked on 1st November, 2022 as the 13th Vice Chancellor of the premier university.

The Chaplain of the Chapel of the Resurrection, University of Ibadan Venerable Dr Victor Idowu Oladele was in the VC’s office to offer thanksgiving for the year ended and to commit the coming years into the hands of God Almighty.
The Chaplain noted the many successes recorded by Prof Adebowale in the last one year in spite of the turbulence in the tertiary education sector and prayed that God Almighty will continually grant the Vice-Chancellor grace, favour and sound health.

He prayed that the Administration will be characterized with continued success, development and commendable growth.
The Chaplain prayed further that favour will speak for the Vice Chancellor and his team and that the University will receive newness in Research, Innovation and Development.
He gave the VC a charge ” Trust in the Lord and do His will always”
Dr Oladele also prayed for all Staff and Students of the University, that the spirit of excellence will rest upon them.
In his speech of thanksgiving, the Vice Chancellor listed his achievements in the last one year to include provision of electricity in the Professor Olajuwon Olayide Extension of the University; repair of equipment for the flow of water from the Eleyele Waterworks to the University; continued higher ranking of the University of Ibadan; on- going recruitment of staff and resuscitation of all projects hitherto comatose or abandoned.
The short Prayer session was attended by Principal officers of the University.
