The University of Ibadan Muslim Graduates Association (UIMGA) has concluded plans to celebrate and honour some of its graduates for their roles in the growth and development of the school and the country in general.

National Secretary of the Association, Babatunde Lawal, in a statement, explained that the selected individuals would be openly celebrated and rewarded at the homecoming programme schedule for November 19th, 2023, at the Mosque Hall of the University of Ibadan.

A statement which was made available to journalist at the weekend, indicated that Vice President, Dr. Kashim Shettima; Governor of Borno State, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum; and Deputy Governors of Oyo and Lagos States, are some of the people that would be honoured at the event.

Others as contained in the statement are Prof. Musturah Oyebisi Azeez, Dean of Faculty of Veterinary Medicine University of Ilorin; Prof Hameed Adetunji of Umul Qurah University, Saudi Arabia; Senators Sharafadeen Ali, Yunus Akintunde and Lere Oyewumi and other notable Professors, would be honoured at the at the homecoming.

The National Secretary of the Association, further noted that the homecoming programme will coincide with the 75th anniversary of the University of Ibadan, thus the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Kayode Adebowale, will be the Chief Host.

He also confirmed that the event will be presided over by Dr. Kazeem Sola Adeduntan, Managing Director, First Bank Nigeria; with Oba (Prof.) Saka Adelola Matemilola PhD, FNSE (Oluyalo Otileta VII), The Olowu of Owu Kingdom and Oba Semiu Orimadegun Kasali (Emugoriade I), The Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom, Ikorodu as Royal Fathers.

In addition to that, Mutalubi Adebayo Ojo, will deliver the keynote address on the topic: Religions, Worships, Political Participation and Governance: Service to Humanity or to both Humanity and God?.
