Department of Paediatrics, College of Medicine, University of Ibadan has commended founder of Rilwan Adesoji Akanbi Foundation (RAAF), Senator Adesoji Akanbi and solicited for financial support towards inauguration of Alayo Children’s Health Trust.

The Department of Paediatrics through a letter signed by its Acting Head of Department, Dr Adanze O. Asinobi hailed Senator Akanbi for his positive impact on society.
The letter referenced recent donation of N1million by Senator Akanbi to University College Hospital for indigent patients in children admitted in the wards of the Department of Paediatrics also benefitted from.
FreshPage recalls that Senator Akanbi has been supporting University College Hospital (UCH) for years through RAAF foundation. The Chief Medical Director, UCH, Prof. Jesse Otegbayo acknowledged contribution of Senator Akanbi on live radio broadcast in popular Ibadan radio station during COVID-19. Prof. Otegbayo remarked that Senator Akanbi was among the leading personalities that fulfilled his promises during the pandemic period.

The Acting Head, Dr Asinobi detailed in the letter that the main vision of the Trust is to create fun for sick children and to raise funds towards advancement of child care for indigent children.
“We intend to procure equipment, rehabilitate facilities in the ward and clinic. Promoting research and innovation and best practices in the child health in the University College Hospital, Ibadan top our priorities for the Trust”.
