The late Alhaji Isiaka Alarape, a dedicated “son of the soil” from Foko Compound, near Oke Ado, left an indelible mark on Ibadanland’s sports landscape and community development. A longtime member of the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII) Ibadan Cultural Festival (ICF) Sports Sub-committee, focusing on table tennis, the late Alhaji Alarape championed the growth of sports in Ibadanland for decades.
Beyond his contributions to table tennis, the late Alhaji Alarape was a respected philanthropist and community leader, advocating humanitarian causes and ethical education. His tireless efforts to uplift underserved populations in Ibadan earned him recognition and admiration.
As Ibadan continues to evolve, the late Alhaji Isiaka Alarape’s legacy serves as proof of the power of dedication, community spirit and sports development. His impact on Ibadanland’s sports and community development will be remembered for generations to come.
Alhaji Alarape died yesterday and the Janassah Prayer was held this morning at the Muslim Association of Nigeria (MAN) Secretariat, Joyce B Road, Ibadan, and he was buried at the Ansar-rudeen Prayer Ground, Omi-Adio, Ibadan, immediately after the Janassah Prayer.

For the inevitability of death and test of life, the Quran 21:35, says “Every soul will taste death. And We test you with evil and with good as a trial, and to Us you will be returned.”
May Allah forgive Alhaji Alarape his iniquities, expand and illuminate his grave, and grant him Aljanah Fridaous. Aamin.
