As part of the efforts to strengthen coverage and acceptability of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the South West Agenda for Asiwaju 2023 (SWAGA ’23) has opened its secretariat in Ibadan, Oyo State.
The much anticipated ceremony among party faithfuls attracted notable political gladiators and associates of the Presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu from all the six States in the South West including Kwara and Kogi, also witnessed inauguration of the Women’s Wing of SWAGA ’23 in Oyo state.
The National Chairman of SWAGA ’23, Sen. Dayo Adeyeye while speaking at the program said the move followed diligent consideration of Tinubu’s pedigree, experience and track record.
He noted that there is need for an exceptionally brilliant mind, competent person and patriotic character to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023.
“It is a thing of joy to us and every well-meaning Nigerian that Asiwaju is today the candidate to beat as far as the 2023 presidential election is concerned. We are very ready to take the gospel of Tinubu-for-President to every nook and cranny of the country and we are here today to reawaken the consciousness of our people in Ibadan, which is arguably the political headquarters of the South West, and also the whole of Oyo state to justify their status as the Pacesetters. We have our strategies mapped out already and we shall mobilize millions of voters to realize the ultimate goal in the end,” he said.
Oyo SWAGA ’23 Chairman Hon. Sunday Adepoju said Tinubu’s presidency will restore the nation’s lost glory and give Nigerians a country they would be proud of.
He said: “It is also in our plan to mobilise support for all APC candidates in the state including Sen.Teslim Folarin who is vying for the office of the Oyo state governor.”
“The Tinubu-for-President campaign is a divine project and we want everyone to be actively involved in view of what it promises for all and sundry.”
“This edifice we are unveiling today for the use of SWAGA in Oyo state is donated by the House of Representatives candidate for Ido/Ibarapa East Federal Constituency in the next year poll, Engr. Aderemi Oseni, who has also promised to do more.”
“I can even tell the whole world that a lot of eminent individuals and groups have indicated their interest to help the cause in one way or the other. We are indeed grateful and we shall not disappoint.”
While inaugurating the executive committee for the Women’s Wing of the group in Oyo state, a two-term member of the House of Representatives who doubles as the National Women Leader of the Group, Hon. Ayo Omidiran charged the Dr. Tokunbo Fayokun- led Committee to prioritize mobilisation of youths, women and others by visiting different homes, settlements and communities to sensitise prospective voters on the need to elect Sen. Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the next president of Nigeria.
Other members of the inaugurated Executive Committee are: Barr. Esther Akerele (Secretary), Alhaja Bolatito Adebisi (Treasurer), Mrs. Adebisi Adegoke (Public Relations Officer), Mrs. Bosede Adaramola (Organising Secretary), Erelu Funke Olayanji (Matron 1) and Chief Ayoka Lawani (Matron 2) while dignitaries who graced the occasion include; Hon. Oyetunde Ojo, Hon. Olatunbosun Oladele, Alhaji Tajudeen Olanite, Hon. Dapo Lam-Adesina, Prof. Soji Adejumo, Deji Jakande, Ifedayo Abeegunde, Gani Dauda, Mukaila Musa and Akeem Oniru.
