The battle against criminal element like herders seems unabated as suspected Fulani herdsmen stormed Sobe Community in Owan West Local Government Area of Edo State.

According to the information gathered by the Nation, a pastor, two of his workers were killed by fully armed herdsmen with Ak-47 rifles.

The pastor and two of his workers were killed on their farmland located on Eti Oseh road connecting Sabongida-Ora in the renewed hostility launched by Fulani herdsmen in the community.

The Edo Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Chidi Nwabuzor confirmed the killing the of the pastor and gathered that efforts put in place to rescue the victims alive by the Edo State Security Network could not materialized. He noted that about forty herdsmen opened fire on the rescue team.

Nwabuzor pleaded with residents in the State and assured them that Edo State Police command would do everything possible within the ambit of law to protect the life and properties of all citizens in the state.

He urged anyone with useful information to avail the command in order to end criminal activities in the state.

Residents of the community called on Edo State Governor, Mr Godwin Obaseki to rise up to the challenge in protecting them from evils of herdsmen.
