The Councillor representing Ward 8, Oke-Apo, in Oyo East Local Government Area, Hon. Mustapha Abduwasiu Ademola (WASPA) has questioned why the Local Government Chairman, Hon. Arowosaye won’t face the Legislative arm of the Local Government to account for utilisation of Local Government funds instead of peddling lies that Councillors have collected money to impeach him.
Reacting to the alleged collection of N250,000 each by seven councillors, Hon. Mustapha Abduwasiu Ademola (WASPA) said that is no iota of truth in the claim. Hon. Mustapha said it was curious that all of the media articles coming from Arowosaye’s camp always contained “anonymous sources”. According to him it was because they were telling lies and have to hide behind a veil of being “anonymous”.
On why the Council was requesting Hon. Arowosaye to account for his stewardship, the Councillor said that they were only performing their constitutional functions and if the Chairman had nothing to fear he needs not run helter-skelter looking for cover up and peddling lies against the innocent. “We were elected, just like the Chairman. Afterall, at National Level, the National Assembly invite the Executive just as State Assembly invite the State Executive, Why can’t we also do same? Why is Mr Chairman afraid? Does he has a skeleton in his cupboard as far as utilisation of LG funds is concerned?
It is imperative to state clearly some of the issues for which the Local Government Chairman was being invited; Hon. WASPA said he would only give four of about fifteen issues:

• Our findings show that Arowosaye has abrogated over 200 plots in the new Oyo East scheme to himself and his stooges. This is enough reason to invite him as we have been furnished with documents on it.
• There have also been several complaints about the allocation of shops at Akesan Market, till date, his mismanagement of the contract means that the electricity has not been connected and he collected the money for it.
° He can also tell us why the statutory amounts to be given to Baales and Chiefs was arbitrarily reduced? So why using the image of our amiable Governor to record videos of a few of the Baales. Why didn’t the person who recorded the video ask them if their money was reduced from before?
° Who administers the 40% funds that goes to the LCDA?
These are some of the questions that need answering. I don’t know why the Chairman is now trying to blackmail us that we collected money when we did not.
