Mammoth crowd on Sunday gathered at Seme Border to cheer unexpected appearance of Prof. Wole Soyinka who was on his way to visit Yoruba Nation agitator, Chief Sunday Adeyemo popularly called Sunday Igboho.

Nobel Laureate winner, Soyinka was accompanied by Prof. Banji Akintoye and other believers of Yoruba nation.

While speaking to journalists on motive for his journey at Seme border, Soyinka said he had wished to see Igboho and sympathize with him for the struggle.

FRESHPAGE recalls that Chief Sunday Igboho has been clamouring for Yoruba Nation over insecurity facing the South West, Nigeria. His Ibadan house in Soka was raided by Department of State Security (DSS) on the ground that he was stockpiling illegal fire arms.

On July 20th 2021, Chief Sunday Igboho was arrested in Cotonou while attempting to flee to Germany with is wife to run away after he was declared wanted by President Muhammadu Buhari led government.

After series of court hearing, Igboho was released from Benin prison eight months after but with clause of not leaving the country.
