The Okanlomo of Ibadanland, Sen. Rilwan Adesoji Akanbi, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, describing the monarch as a symbol of wisdom, dignity, and peace.

In a heartfelt statement obtained by FRESHPAGE, Senator Akanbi noted that the news of Oba Olakulehin’s passing was shocking, especially coming just days after the monarch celebrated his 90th birthday.

Akanbi praised the late Olubadan as a monarch whose reign, though brief, was marked by an unwavering commitment to the unity and well-being of Ibadanland.

“Oba Olakulehin was not just a king, but a father figure and a peacemaker whose presence exuded calm and understanding,” Akanbi said. “His love for Ibadan and his dedication to its peace and heritage will never be forgotten.”
