Senator Rilwan Adesoji Akanbi has joined the list of eminent Nigerians to commiserate with the family of former governor of Ondo State, Rotimi Akeredolu who died at age 67 following a long battle with leukemia.
In his condolence message, Senator Akanbi espoused the legacy left behind by former NBA president, Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice in Ondo State.

In his emotional message, Senator Akanbi wrote:
‘Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?’
“It is with a deep sense of remorse that I, Sen. Rilwan Adesoji Akanbi and my family commiserate with the immediate family of His Excellency Arakunrin Rotimi Odunayo Akeredolu SAN, Executive Governor of Ondo State and Ondo State people whose transition was announced in far away Germany after a protracted illness.
“Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu, well known to my family as an Ibadan “Egbon” who was a straight-forward and extremely hardworking person. His words are his bonds and that is the truth about him. Those are among his impeccable characters. He was a big brother who never failed us.
“Leaving the stage at 67 years of age, he played his part with high sense of commitments and responsibilities as;
~ President, Nigeria Bar Association.
~Attorney-General and Commissioner of Justice in Ondo State 1997 -1999.
~Governor of Ondo State 2017 -2023.
“The legacy he left behind shall stand the test of time.
“May Almighty God console the family he left behind. May Almighty God grant him paradise and rest his gentle soul peacefully.
“My Condolences to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for the departed trusted associate.”
