As the 2027 electoral cycle approaches, renowned business mogul and politician, Hon. Olaniyi Simeon Akinloye, popularly known as “OSA,” has officially declared his readiness to represent the Ayedaade/Irewole/Isokan Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.
Speaking with journalists in Osogbo, Akinloye, who currently serves as a Special Assistant to Governor Ademola Adeleke, emphasized that his entrance into the race is driven by a mission to bridge the gap between current representation and the actual needs of the people.
Akinloye highlighted that effective lawmaking requires more than just attending plenary; it demands the ability to leverage influence within the nation’s capital to attract development.
“There are vast opportunities in Abuja. A lawmaker must be able to network across various sectors and agencies to deliver the true dividends of democracy. With my background in business and politics, i am prepared to facilitate a total turnaround for our constituency,” Akinloye stated.
Addressing the political climate within the party, Akinloye dismissed rumours regarding automatic tickets for incumbent lawmakers. He urged constituents to focus on merit and performance rather than hearsay. He stressed that the re-election of Governor Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke is the primary goal, as a second term for the Governor provides the necessary platform for the constituency’s growth. Residents of the constituency have noted that for the sake of equity and justice, Gbongan (Ayedaade Local Government) should be given the opportunity to produce the next representative.
Akinloye’s declaration comes on the heels of recent calls by youth groups in Osogbo, urging the party leadership to avoid automatic tickets to ensure the party remains competitive and responsive to the people’s demands. Public sentiment within Ayedaade, Irewole, and Isokan suggests a strong appetite for change. Many constituents have expressed dissatisfaction with the current pace of development, positioning Akinloye as a frontrunner due to his modernization agenda.
As the “OSA” movement gains traction across all zones, Olaniyi Simeon Akinloye remains a central figure in the conversation to reposition the federal constituency for a more prosperous future.
