Senator Yunus Akintunde has expressed shock over the announcement of the passage of Oniroko of Iroko, His Royal Highness Oba Sunmaila Olasunkanmi Abioye Opeola, who died early hours of today.
In a release made available to the FreshPage through Kunle Olatunji the Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to Senator Yunus Akintunde, he described the late monarch as quite exceptional and highly respected among his subject and other traditional rulers within the Oyo State traditional Council.
“I received with shock the news of the demise of Kabiyesi Oniroko of Iroko land, His Royal Highness, Oba Sunmaila Olasunkanmi Abioye Opeola, Kunrunlolu 1”
“Kabiyesi was quite a unique traditional ruler who was held in high esteem by his subject and among other traditional rulers upholding values of excellent leadership”.
“We will miss Kabiyesi’s fatherly disposition and affection personally to me and especially to his subjects, the good people of Irokoland which undoubtedly witnessed notable developments and monumental achievements during his peaceful reign”.
“I commiserate with his immediate family members and the entire people of Iroko community and environs where the respected monarch reigned”.
“May Almighty Allah grant him Aljannah Fridaus, rest in perfect peace with his ancestors and his family, the good people of Irokoland the fortitude to bear the loss of his passage”. He concluded.
