The politics, personality and impact of Sen. (Dr) Monsurat Olajumoke Sunmonu on humanity deserves beautiful decoration in the history of Oyo state. As a virtuous woman, Sen. Sunmonu stands positively tall among her peers. She’s a woman who combines the rare attributes of a heart of humility, vast network of associates, highly cerebral and conciliator.
Maami Aduke have over the years emerged as a rallying point, woman who can be trusted, not bigoted, a believer in equity, justice and fairness. Sen. Sunmonu is highly experienced in private and public sectors with indelible footprint.
No doubt, Mama is a woman of inestimable value very. She is bold and courageous, she has a true love and passion for her people, and development of the Oyo State and Nigeria as a whole.
Iya awa boys as fondly called by all and sundry, Against all odds supported, empowered and uplifted her people. This has been attested to by beneficiaries of her large heart. As a believer in just and fair society, she has continually fought for a Nigeria where no one would be discriminated based on gender, religion or tribe.
Sunmonu made history on July 10, 2011 when she emerged first female Speaker, Oyo State House of Assembly. She represents Oyo East and Oyo West Local Governments. Under her speakership, the Oyo State House of Assembly considered 85bills in its 4-year term. No doubt, Mama raised the bar representation at the hallowed chamber which earn her senatorial ticket and emerged Senator representing Oyo Central Senatorial District from 2015 to 2019.

Maami has never given up on Oyo state and the Nigeria entirely, little wonder she keeps supporting and agitating for good governance and dividends of democracy for her people and the town she represents. She also believes in the human and material resources that abound here and that under sound leadership such as she represents, we can be the best that God created and designed us to be.
Aduke has never for once relent but keeps working tirelessly and assiduously towards building bridges of unity, understanding and trust required for a united and progressive country.
In view of the above, let’s rise above partisanship and regional interest to rally round her and continue to pray for her to live long with sound health. Maami, as I used to say, Almighty Allah will continue to place you above all satanic forces that might try to bring you down. A’aameen.
