The gubernatorial candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Mr Folorunsho Michael Lana has reacted to the adoption of the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Teslim Kolawole Folarin by some leaders of the his party.
He described the adoption of APC guber candidate by the leaders of SDP as a way of negotiating his destiny to become Oyo governor and that House of Assembly candidates of the party.
Lana made the reaction on Saturday while featuring on socio-political programme on Lagelu FM tagged Gbegede Gbina” anchored by seasoned broadcaster, Ajibola Akinyefa.
The SDP gubernatorial candidate said he knew nothing in what leaders of the party did by adopting Senator Folarin ahead of him. He faulted the State Chairman of the party, Mr. Michael Ogunlade that he did wishes of the minority and not majority in the party.
He distanced himself from adoption of Senator Folarin. He said he would rather declare for candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Engr Seyi Makinde or Accord Chief Adebayo AbdulWaheed Adelabu who has good track record in public and private space.

While asking question about his financial strength in the party, he said there is no way he could be given money to every Tom, Dick and Harry in the party. He maintained that party affairs is a collective one and not one man’s show.
FreshPage reports that members of the SDP in Oyo State at its emergency State Congress held in Ibadan adopted the APC governorship candidate as their preferred choice.
The meeting reviewed the performances of the SDP in the February 25th Presidential and National Assembly Elections, gave birth to decision of members across 33 LGAs in the state to agree to a coalition ahead of March 18, gubernatorial election and state house of assembly elections.
