University of Ibadan community was thrown into mourning as the institution recorded death of two undergraduate students within 24 hours.
A final year student of the Department of History, Faculty of Arts, Adegoke Ridwan Adedayo was killed by suspected armed robbers around Preboye Complex in the early hours of Sunday while another 200-level student of the Department of Microbiology, Adeyemo Oluwaseun Ayomide was involved in a car accident around Mobil filling station, opposite University of Ibadan.
The accident reportedly happened in the evening hour on Sunday. Late Oluwaseun was rushed to Jaja Clinic, UI before she was confirmed dead.
Late Adedayo was a resident of Independence Hall before his life was terminated by suspected armed robbers.
The Students’ Union executive led by the President, Olusegun Akeju, Dean of Students, Head of Department of History and students of the institution urged Bodija Police Division to carry out proper investigation and expose the killers of the two students..
The remains of Adedayo has been moved from Adeoyo Hospital to University College Hospital mortuary while remains of Oluwaseun has been transferred to Anatomy, University of Ibadan.
