Barely six days after the dedication of an OPD Extension donated to the University Health Services, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Kayode Adebowale, FAS, mni, was again at Jaja Clinic to officially commission another building donated by Professor Titi Hassan, a retired Professor of Zoology, University of Ibadan for use as Pharmacy and Health Store.

The Vice-Chancellor reiterated that Higher Education is not a cheap commodity and this calls for all stakeholders to contribute to its sustenance as the government alone cannot adequately fund tertiary Education.

Prof. Adebowale commended the efforts of the Director, Dr. Aderonke Ajav and the entire team at the UHS for their commitment and dedication to quality service delivery.

He was immensely grateful to the benefactor and his wife for the donation. He expressed his deep appreciation to the retired professor for showing an example, worthy of emulation and called on others to follow his example.

The Director, UHS, Dr Aderonke Ajav, while welcoming guests was full of appreciation to God and all stakeholders.

 

She assured all that the concept of a Pharmacy Building is in tandem with the provisions and demands of the National Health Insurance Scheme. She affirmed that there would be neither conflict of interest nor competition. ‘Operating a pharmacy shop will complement service provision’ she remarked.

In his own remarks, the Benefactor, Professor Titi Hassan thanked his wife , Professor Adesola Hassan for her support. He expressed his profound appreciation to God for the opportunity to give and pledged to do more for the university through the Faculty of Science in the nearest future.
